Whats the Better Flight School, National Pilot Academy, or ATP?
Airline Ticketsjon asked:
Anyone have any experience National Pilot Academy or Airline Transport Professionals flight schools?? I am hoping to become a commercial pilot so I am looking into schools. I have heard that Embry Riddle is the best but I would like to move to the Las Vegas area so I have narrowed it down the these two schools. I am sure both schools have their ups and downs but I would love to hear anyones experiences good or bad with either one of these schools.

Embry-Riddel is the best that I know of. They have a campus in Prescott, AZ which is about 4 hours south of Vegas.
I have not heard anything about the other 2 schools, though. If you are looking for a degree of some sort, make sure they are accredited to give degrees by the Nevada State Department of Education. Also, make sure that the instructors you use are CFI certified and CFI-I certified. This is usually a prerequisite to getting a job as an instructor, but you never know.

National Pilot Academy is not a good school. No students are satisfied with them. They lie to get you to sign a contract. If you break the contract by leaving before having finished your CFII then they charge you 5000 dollars. Their planes are always broken and 46,900 may seem cheap but remember you still have to get multi time and they charge 10000 for that. I am the first and only to do their program in 4 months. I got out of there as soo as I could after that. feel free to ask me any questions. I do have a good solution though. Go to NPA and only sign the contract through your single engine commercial. Then go to ATP and get your CFI, CFII and MEI for the same price NPA charges for you CHI alone. WARNING- if you go to NPA they will jerk you around. You must bug and bug and bug so that you can get through the program in the four month time period. Like I said, I did it in four but the closest to me is NINE months. I pushed the heck out of them though.
